Deep Dive with Judi “CashFISH” Lewis

1.      Briefly describe your Consultis journey.

I was working for another agency when Consultis acquired them in May, 2016. Two days after the purchase, I interviewed with Jaime, accepted the position and started working the same day!

2.      What do you love most about your job?

This is hard because I love so many things about my job. First, the people…we have an awesome team here that is truly an extension of a family. The culture that is based on our FISH concept allows for autonomy. We all share the same vision and values and we are on the same mission together. Even though we are individually measured, we are all happy when another team member is successful. I love being able to have a voice with ownership and management and share previous experiences and ideas.

3.      What is your favorite thing to do in Delray Beach?

I love the “Ave” as there is something for everyone! From the shops, cafes, nightlife, and restaurants. And I love the water and the beach.

4.      What is your top piece of advice for clients, candidates, or those who are new to the staffing industry?

Clients – The most important factor is trust. I think clients should partner with an agency that specializes in their needs and one that they have developed a good relationship with. This business is all about trust and relationships. A good relationship will eliminate a lot of unnecessary interviewing time meeting with the wrong people. This is why the process at Consultis is far above the industry standard and 91% of our candidates are invited to interview.

Candidates- Again, I think the most important factor here is trust and relationship building. A candidate needs to develop relationships with a few recruiters as opposed to working with every agency in town. You want a recruiter that takes the time to review your resume in detail with you, takes the time to meet with you in person and really digs in to understand what is important to you in your next career move. You want to select a recruiter that provides feedback and coaches you through the entire process.

New – If you think you want a career in recruiting, I think the first thing you need to do is figure out if you want to be a generalist or specialize in one field and then find the right recruiting company based on your career goals. I would also look for a company that offers training. This is a highly stressful industry.

5.      What has been your proudest moment at Consultis?

I have several proud moments at Consultis, but the one I would like to mention is winning the Recruiter of the Year award, back to back years 2017 and 2018.

6.      One piece of life or career advice I’d give to a mentee:

You need to be able to handle a roller coaster career. You must enjoy connecting with strangers and become a relationship builder. Your reputation is all you have therefore honesty is the best policy. Do not over promise and under deliver. This is a people business – don’t ever lose sight of your product and be human and genuinely enjoy helping people.
